1.        Properly attach wire rope clamps
2.        Properly tighten a Deadman clamp. (wraps on spool, pattern, torque value)
3.        Inspect and maintain wire ropes and cables.  Identify the different types of problems encountered.
4.        Choose the correct type of shackle for a given situation.  (Screw type pin or bolt type 4 part)
5.        Properly inspect the harnesses, lanyards, SRL’s, carabineers, and safety cables
6.        Properly put on and maintain a safety harness
7.        Properly climb a ladder using double lanyard and Lad-safe equipment
8.        Climb and descend the stairs and walkways
9.        Demonstrate proper method to carry heavy objects up and down stairs.
10.        Demonstrates the ability to recognize damaged steps and handrails
11.        Inspect hand tools.
12.        Set up and use a hand grinder, drill, and air tools.
13.        Use a step ladder.
14.        Touches electrical panel with the back of hand before grabbing handle.
15.        Snubs overhead electrical lights properly.
16.        Uses correct knowledge and use of mixing/ barite hoppers.
17.        Understanding of special precautions and utilizing special procedures for mixing(knowing the correct type of PPE for
each chemical being mixed)
18.        Properly disposal of debris, for example, empty sacks and buckets.
19.        Find the MSDS Station, find and use the MSDS sheet for the chemical in question
20.        Knows proper care and storage of the Respirator.
21.        Properly inspect and tag a Fire Extinguisher
22.        Properly use a Fire Extinguisher (P.A.S.S.)
23.        Understands the meaning of all the warning signs.
24.        Properly inspect, tongs, slips, elevators, and floor tools
25.        Set up and adjust tongs
26.        Properly inspect and change dies (tongs, slips)
27.        Properly lubricate Rig Floor Equipment
28.        Set and remove slips
29.        Properly “Level Wind” an Air Hoist cable.
30.        Inspect the Kelly and Kelly bushings (see appendix)
31.        Assist in changing out the Master Bushing
32.        Hook up tong snub & pull lines properly
33.        Understanding of the precautions and correct use of hand slips, tailing rope, elevators, spiders, thread locking
compounds, stop collars, centralizers
34.        Successfully handle tubulars (drill pipe, casing, tubing, etc.), to make and break tubular connections using slips (while
utilizing proper lifting techniques), top drive, rig tongs and related equipment
35.        Make up and break out stands and rack in derrick, while tripping pipe, using air hoist, rig tongs, chain tongs, pipe
spinners, iron roughneck, mouse hole, collar clamp
36.        Properly handle and use subs, lift subs, lift caps and other threaded tubular equipment
37.        Safely tail, stab, rack back and otherwise handle drill string, casing, tubing
38        Coordinate well with Driller, and other crewmembers
39.        Identify and inspect the different types of Hammer Unions.
40.        Differentiate between the various types of Pressure relief pins.
41.        Recognize problems with pressure relief lines, guards, whip checks.
42.        Recognize the various parts of the Block and Hook Assembly and inspect
43.        Inspect the Mud Pump
44.        Properly use the Wireline unit
45.        Apply the proper amount of grease to grease fittings and other lubrication points on the draw works, top drive, traveling
block, crown block, compensators, swivel, hook, chicksans, low-torque valves, standpipe valves, drill line anchor, air hoists,
rotary locks, wire-line unit
46.        Inspect and maintain tubular box and pin connections, dies, nuts, bolts, etc. on drilling equipment for wear and/or
damage
47.        Maintain wire ropes and cables
48.        Properly use brushes, rabbits, thread protectors and pipe dope
49.        Bundle and move tubular goods from one place to another
50.        Rack tubulars on pipe rack
51.        Assist in measuring tubulars
52.        Install stop collars and centralizers on casing
53.        Assist Derrickman in mixing and handling of mud and chemicals while adhering to all
54.        Knowledge of well control emergencies and assigned duties, including a general overview of well control procedures
and an adequate understanding of BOP ram configurations
55.        Understanding of consequences of using blind/shear rams
56.        Understanding of trip/pit drills, responsibilities
57.        Understanding of nippling up and down
58.        Understanding of the correct procedures for handling casing and related equipment
59        Understanding of the precautions and the correct use of the casing stabbing board and related PPE
60.        Understanding of the precautions related to working around the cement unit, handling cement lines, working with
equipment that is under pressure
