Walt Canyon New Mexico 2006.  This is in
the Southern Guadalupe Mountains.  This
is proof of why New Mexico is called the
lightening strike capitol of the US.
Nobody injured.
They had an internal vessel fire.  The fire
actually made its way  outside.  This
made for one exciting day for the pumper.
- Nobody injured.
Doesn't take very long to melt an iron derrick.   This happened about  1999 in an area
and depth where they had a similar incident a few years previous.  The fire burned
for only a few minutes before the driller got it shut in.  As soon as he did he went
upstairs to answer the phone and it was me! - LOL (Wade)  he later told me that the
ground started rumbling, and he told his hands to run.  They did!  He said after he got
it shut in he could just barely see them running through the field.  It unloaded the hole
& flashed very quickly.

Pulling unit turned over, Queens Hwy - Indian Hills.  I drove up on this @ 2002.
Later that same year the Sheriff of that county also hit a dark train on the same road.
The did re-paint the road and put up warning signals.

This was the evening tour crew from a close by rig.  Although our company
technically was not responsible, we still sought care for these guys.  They were
injured badly.  One of my guys found one of them living in terrible pain.  He loaded the
guy up and took him to the Dr, got some relief for him and then bought him some
groceries.  I was very proud of my safety hand.
A young man died in this rollover on a curve.  Tragic Driver error.  Oversized tires and
sharp curves.  Reports are he was a good kid that was going through a hard time - no
drugs or alcohol involved in this accident.  This should tell us all how dangerous driving
can be!
Yep!  Steels toes can cut off flesh toes.  You should order the Mythbusters DVD where
they tested steal toes.  It shows (proves) that very heavy objects defeat steal toes (no
pun intended).
Cattleguard single pole gate.  Almost invisible when aimed toward your
speeding vehicle.  Download my safety alert about this issue.

This is a piece of a  kotter key lodged in his eye.  This is one of the reasons to wear
safety glasses.  Little incidents can sometimes turn into a big ordeal.
Holy Cow!  Sinkhole in Dagger Draw New
Mexico - near Carlsbad.  This had to be a
shock to the pumper.
More sinkhole stuff - another incident near
Carlsbad -
Unbelievable stuff in GUATEMALA CITY ,

This bear bit off more than he could chew.  This may be the best
way to teach electrical safety without showing gory human
remains.  There is a slideshow of this here-

We should keep in mind that many more electrocutions happen
at home than work.

This poor woman had no idea this "pothole" was this big!  Here is
a reason to 'Red-Flag" hazards.  In fact when you look at this you
think - "Why didn't someone warn her?  Here are the rest of the
pictures -
